Red Events were instrumental in ensuring that the RIBA Stirling Prize events in 2019 and 2021 (there wasn’t one on 2020 due to Covid) were delivered to an exceptional standard for all, including: guests, key stakeholders, winners, press, broadcast, online community and of course RIBA – the client. In 2019 it was an 800+ event at the Roundhouse in London with two tier seating and complicated catering; in 2021 it was a smaller affair at The Coventry Cathedral but delivered to the same excellent standard. Both events were simultaneously delivered in the room and with live BBC content, which was then live streamed across the BBC and RIBA platforms. Fiona and Caron are a force to be reckoned with. Every level of detail for running a top class, nationally acclaimed award show was thought about, scheduled, actioned and delivered. As the client, I was enormously reassured throughout the whole process. Red events took over all of the negotiations with external suppliers (venue, caterers, production, furniture), they pre-empted every possible issue and delivered solutions to mitigate. I didn’t need to be across every detail, I knew Fiona and Caron would be and they worked fantastically and collaboratively with the RIBA Events Manager to ensure that each worked to their strengths and that there was no duplication of roles and responsibilities. On the night they brought in their expert team to support the RIBA staff volunteers to ensure each and every guest had a wonderful experience. I would heartedly recommend Red Events for any significant event you are intending to run – indeed I’m not sure I ever want to run one without them!
